Hair + scalp

Hair is built from the inside, from the fats your body has on hand.

habb is one cold-pressed seed — Ethiopian, single-origin — rich in the fats the follicle is built from. The card in the box shows what's actually in your bottle, lab-tested batch by batch. One teaspoon every morning.

The science

Smaller evidence base. Honest about it.

The hair research on Nigella sativa is more modest than skin or immune — and we'd rather say so than inflate it.

A 2013 controlled pilot study (n=20)

Tested a 0.5% Nigella sativa essential oil scalp lotion against placebo in women experiencing stress-induced diffuse hair thinning, over three months. Videodermatoscopic analysis showed improvement in hair density and thickness in 70% of treated participants versus 20% in placebo. Zero participants in the treated group showed worsening, versus 50% in placebo. This is a pilot study (n=20, non-randomized) using topical application. It is the best controlled human data in this domain; larger oral RCTs do not yet exist.

habb is positioned to nourish — not to promise regrowth. Hair is built from fatty acids, keratin precursors, and a healthy scalp environment. habb delivers the fatty-acid and antioxidant inputs. The rest is your routine.

Why one ingredient, not twelve

The studies measured the oil. We measure ours.

The hair research used measured oil — a specific active-compound percentage. Most cold-pressed bottles on the shelf don't say what's in them. We do, every batch, on the card.

Every habb batch publishes three data points:

Thymoquinone — HPLC-UV on the fixed oil, minimum 2%

Lab-verified. Method-disclosed.

Fatty acid profile (GC)

Linoleic 57–61%, oleic 20–21%, palmitic 12–13%. These fatty acids nourish the hair follicle and the scalp environment.

Benzo(a)pyrene under 2.0 μg/kg

For oxidation and contamination safety.

How to use

One teaspoon, every morning.

From the ceramic spoon. Every bottle ships with one. A second use, supported by the pilot study's topical protocol: warm a few drops in your palms and massage into scalp at night, 30 minutes before washing. Patch-test first. A dedicated habb scalp oil is in the product roadmap for later in 2026.

Give it a full cycle. Hair grows in cycles; visible change runs on a 3–6 month timeline regardless of input. Stay consistent.

Questions

The honest answers.

Will habb regrow my hair?
We do not make that claim, and the evidence does not support it. The controlled pilot study (SCIRP 2013) was topical, small (n=20), and measured improvement in hair density and thickness, not regrowth. habb nourishes the follicle and the scalp environment. That is the honest frame.
Oral or topical — which is better?
The 2013 pilot study used a topical scalp application. habb is formulated as an oral supplement. Some customers use a small amount topically on the scalp as a pre-wash treatment; patch-test first. A dedicated habb scalp oil is coming later in 2026.
How long before I notice anything?
Hair cycles are slow — 3 to 6 months is the realistic window for visible change from any input. The habb 90-Day Proof covers the first round. Consistency inside that window is the whole game.
Can I use habb with my hair care routine?
Yes. habb layers with whatever serum, oil, or supplement routine you already use. The ingredient is one-component cold-pressed oil.
Is the evidence base smaller than for skin?
Yes, we think it's important to say so. The skin and immune research on Nigella sativa is much deeper than the hair research. We chose to build a page here because the fatty-acid and scalp-environment mechanisms are real and the pilot data is directionally positive — but we will not overclaim.
